Google’s AMP Enhancing E-Mail Marketing Strategy

Email marketing has been on the brim for a long time now and much like other digital marketing components have been experiencing revolutionizing changes. Google has recently come up with another update on how email marketing would work by introducing its Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) in Gmail. This new and exciting feature in Google’s own email platform will now bring life to your emails making way for an even more exciting Gmail experience.

AMP in email offers the following features enabling digital marketing agencies and email marketing service providers to develop better relations with clients:

E-Mail Marketing Strategy

Visual Storytelling of your brand and products:

AMP has introduced an innovative method to make emails more interactive and engaging. Visual Storytelling is the major advantage you would have with AMP induced emails. When your target audience gets more interactive emails, they would tend to respond more frequently and you will be able to generate a higher customer base for yourself through referrals. So now you can launch a new product and inform your email subscribers with an altogether different approach such as including animation to highlight the features of the product.

Accomplishing major tasks through email only:

It’s a tedious task for customers to switch over to the website to explore a particular feature and then switch back to the email to get more information. Businesses that provide multiple services can now incorporate AMP format in their emails so that users don’t have to switch from email to the website time and again. It’s a handy feature for users who have multiple tabs open and can get easily distracted. The new feature lets recipient RSVP an event, add pins to your pinterest account or even fill out a questionnaire without being redirected to a website.

Browsing various features of website from email itself:

With more than 270 billion emails sent in a Day (2017 stats), AMP would prove to be a much useful platform for maintaining a more personalized relationship with clients, simultaneously allowing them to access most of the site’s features via email only. But, AMPs in emails won’t ask users to share any personal data. For example, an AMP email sent by a travel booking website will only allow users to browse the various booking options available, but for making the final booking and payment, users will be redirected to the website. With AMP for email, you could respond interactively through a form without leaving the email conversation with the client.

Fresh Content each time you access your email:

Emails are considered as an authentic source to relay information and only when a confirmation has been sent via email, the authenticity of a document is established. This is the reason why most users depend upon emails for information regarding flights, events, news, online purchases and much more. This critical information will be automatically updated in AMP induced emails as and when it is updated, so that emails never get stale and content is accurate when a user looks at it.
Although AMP support has not yet been included in Gmail but it is available for developer’s preview. Access it by signing up as a developer through Google. More will be known about this new feature when it is actually rolled out for the common user by the end of 2018. For more information keep following this space.
